Police conclude Kim Soo-hyun's 'relationship with a minor' allegations are unfounded

[Financial News] Police have closed the case involving actor Kim Soo-hyun's alleged relationship with a minor, finding no grounds for charges.
According to police on the 29th, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station recently decided not to forward the case involving alleged violations of the Child Welfare Act and false accusation, saying the charges were not substantiated.
The case began in May last year, when Kim Sae-ron's family filed a complaint against Kim Soo-hyun, accusing him of violating the Child Welfare Act and other offenses, saying he had dated her since she was a minor.
At the time, the family held a press conference and released a recording they claimed was a conversation Kim Sae-ron had with an acquaintance before her death. The recording included a statement to the effect that she had dated Kim Soo-hyun since middle school and broke up with him after entering college.
Kim Soo-hyun's side, however, denied the authenticity of the recording, saying it had been manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI).
The controversy intensified after the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute claimed in March last year that Kim Sae-ron had dated Kim Soo-hyun for about six years, starting when she was 15. Kim Soo-hyun acknowledged that he had dated Kim Sae-ron, but said the relationship began only after she became an adult.
Kim Soo-hyun later took legal action, filing defamation complaints against Kim Sae-ron's family and the operator of Garo Sero Research Institute for allegedly spreading false information.
