[Financial News] SEM COMPANY, the agency of actor Hwang Jung-min, denied rumors circulating online that he was involved in an affair and said the matter was a "stalking offense."
On the 29th, SEM COMPANY explained that the author of the malicious posts related to Hwang Jung-min is a suspect in a stalking offense who has repeatedly harassed him.
The company said Hwang Jung-min had already filed a criminal complaint against the person, and the court had imposed provisional measures, including a restraining order, three times. It added that the suspect was also issued a summary fine order of 3 million won after the stalking charge was recognized.
SEM COMPANY said on the day that it plans to take additional legal action over the maliciously edited posts.
Earlier, a woman created an Instagram account and repeatedly criticized Hwang Jung-min, calling him old and saying, "Is selling the image of being a doting father and husband, while reading and writing erotic stories with other women behind your wife's back, the trend among older men these days?" She also posted messages such as, "I can't stand this anymore. Hwang Jung-min's wife called me and said she had left home, asking me to come over."
