At a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly that day, Han said, "Once the DPK's Aug. 17 party convention is over, we propose that the MOIS, the NEC, and all ruling and opposition parties work together to improve the system and establish a transparent framework to prevent religious interference in politics."
He added, "Recent allegations have been raised that Shincheonji tried to exert influence over the DPK through mass party membership," and said, "As the joint investigation headquarters into collusion between prosecutors, police, and religion is investigating the case, the allegations must be swiftly and strictly rooted out."
He also stressed the need to resolve allegations of organized Shincheonji involvement, saying, "Unverified claims should not be inflated and used as a tool for political attacks, nor should the possibility of outside interference in the primary be dismissed lightly."
