Keiko Fujimori, Daughter of Fujimori, Inaugurated as Peru's First Female President

[Financial News] Keiko Fujimori, the president-elect of Peru, was inaugurated on the 28th local time and officially began her term. She is the first woman in Peru's history to be elected through a popular vote.
Wearing a blue suit, Fujimori said at the inauguration ceremony held at Peru's Congress on the day, "I swear that I will faithfully carry out my duties as president of the republic, entrusted to me by the people from 2026 to 2031."
During her five-year term, Fujimori will lead the government while facing challenges such as economic recovery, stronger public security, and easing political instability.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of right-wing leaders from Latin America, including Argentine President Javier Milei, Chilean President José Antonio Kast, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, Paraguayan President Santiago Peña, and Bolivian President Rodrigo Paz Pereira.
Their attendance was seen as a symbolic scene that reflects the growing conservative alliance in Latin America.
With Fujimori's inauguration, Peru has entered its first era with a female president.
