Kim Jong Un Attends Large Late-Night Event Marking 73rd Anniversary of Armistice Signing; Kim Ju Ae, Ri Sol-ju and Others Watch

[Financial News] To mark the 73rd anniversary of the armistice signing, North Korea held a large late-night event featuring the full appearance of the Baekdu bloodline. In North Korea, the armistice signing date has been commemorated as the so-called "Day of Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War."
According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 28th, the entire family of Kim Jong Un attended the event held the previous night at the plaza in front of Pyongyang Gymnasium and watched it late into the night.
Photos released by North Korean media showed Kim Jong Un watching the performance with his wife, Ri Sol-ju, and his daughter, Kim Ju Ae. 
On that day, senior officials from the Workers' Party of Korea, the government and the military sat on the podium with Korean War veterans. Diplomats from China and Russia stationed in North Korea were also invited to the event. Party secretaries Jo Yong-won and Ju Chang-il, Defense Minister No Kwang-chol, Defense Ministry adviser Pak Jong-chon and KPA Chief of the General Staff Ri Yong-gil accompanied Kim Jong Un. At the event, a ceremonial unit carrying a portrait of Kim Il Sung led the parade, followed by formations in uniforms from the Korean War era marching across the square. Formations from the KPA's ground, naval and air forces, equipped with modern North Korean military hardware, also took part in the march.
A video commemorating China's participation in the war and Chinese songs such as "The Song of the Chinese People's Volunteers" were also played during the event. The KCNA claimed that North Korea had achieved "legendary feats" during the war through operations such as the so-called "Seoul Liberation Operation" and "Daejeon Liberation Operation." 
Meanwhile, Kim Jong Un also visited cemeteries designated as North Korea's national cemetery the previous day with his eldest daughter, Kim Ju Ae. This was the first time Ju Ae's visit to a national cemetery had been made public. He also visited the graves of Chinese soldiers killed during the Korean War, underscoring the increasingly close friendship with China.
Kim Jong Un claimed that the outcome of the Korean War was "a great victory that resolutely defended not only the dignity and sovereignty of the state, but also world peace and security in a fierce, unequal war against the U.S. imperialist beast and its followers, as the newborn Joseon."
On the same day, Kim Jong Un also visited the Revolutionary Martyrs' Cemetery on Daesongsan Mountain, the burial site of anti-Japanese guerrillas and independence activists, and laid flowers at the graves of first-generation guerrilla fighters such as Kim Chaek, Kang Kon and Choe Hyon.
