KOSPI Falls to the 6,500 Level on Foreign Selling [Morning Market Update]

[Financial News] The KOSPI (Korea Composite Stock Price Index) fell back to the 6,500 level on the 27th as foreign investors and institutions sold shares.
As of 10:25 a.m. that day, the KOSPI was trading at 6,589.22, down 101.40 points, or 1.52%, from the previous session.
The KOSPI opened at 6,806.27, up 115.65 points, or 1.73%, from the previous session, but later turned lower. In the domestic main bourse, individual investors bought 1.1712 trillion won worth of shares, while foreigners and institutions sold 1.1921 trillion won and 43.3 billion won worth, respectively.
Among the 14 largest companies by market capitalization, all but Samsung Biologics rose in negative territory. Hanwha Aerospace fell 7.87%, followed by SK Square at 5.05%, Samsung Electro-Mechanics at 3.62%, and Samsung Life Insurance at 3.30%.
Samsung Electronics, the top stock by market capitalization, was trading at 247,250 won, down 0.90% from the previous session. SK hynix, the No. 2 stock by market cap, was trading at 1,727,000 won, down 1.82%.
The KOSDAQ (Korea Securities Dealers Automated Quotations) was trading at 759.88, up 11.66 points, or 1.56%, from the previous session. The index opened at 760.54, up 12.32 points, or 1.65%, on the day.
