Jang Dong-hyuk says real estate policy has already surpassed Moon Jae-in administration's 'worst ever'

[Financial News] Jang Dong-hyuk, leader of the People Power Party, criticized the government’s real estate policy on the 27th, saying, "Under the Lee Jae Myung administration, it has already surpassed the Moon Jae-in administration, which was the worst ever."
At a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Jang said, "South Korea is heading toward a real estate dictatorship," and made the remark.
He said, "No matter what the public, experts, or the opposition say, the government is pushing ahead with its real estate policy as it pleases," adding, "Even at last week's forum, the president ended up turning it into a meaningless talk fest, saying only what he wanted to say."
Regarding the second public forum on real estate policy held on the 27th under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Han Seong-sook, he said, "If the president has already stirred up enough anger among the public, I do not understand why they would hold another forum just to provoke people again."
Jang also claimed, "In just one year, the Lee Jae Myung administration has broken every record set during the five years of the Moon Jae-in administration. The homeownership rate among young people is at an all-time low of 27.7 percent, down 13 percentage points from 2019. The share of monthly rent has exceeded 54 percent, and rents for villas and officetels are soaring, yet the Lee Jae Myung administration has failed to come up with any measures."
He went on to say, "The president has effectively admitted that there are no measures at all. The end of real estate dictatorship is a real estate hell," adding, "The end of that real estate hell will be the hell of this regime."
