[Financial News] Singer Dawn drew attention to the condition after revealing his pale, worn-out appearance on a broadcast and saying, "I have chronic adrenal syndrome, so I need to get a lot of sunlight."
On the MBC variety show "I Live Alone," which aired on the 24th, Dawn opened the windows and front door of his home as soon as he woke up and sat in the yard to soak up the sunlight.

Sitting in front of the door and enjoying the sun, Dawn said, "I have chronic adrenal syndrome," adding, "I was told I need to get a lot of sunlight." Kian84, watching him, joked, "He seems to have no regrets in his eyes."
As the cause behind his tired eyes and listless appearance was revealed to be an adrenal health problem, interest is growing in the condition itself, as well as its causes and treatment.
According to experts, the chronic adrenal syndrome Dawn mentioned medically refers to "adrenal fatigue syndrome" or "adrenal insufficiency."
Causes and mechanisms of adrenal fatigue syndrome

The adrenal glands are small endocrine glands located above both kidneys. They regulate metabolism and immune function, and secrete Cortisol, the hormone that helps the body wake up and respond to stress. Normally, Cortisol peaks around 8 a.m. and then declines at night to promote sleep. However, when chronic stress, overwork, and irregular lifestyles continue, the adrenal glands become overburdened and enter a pathological state in which they can no longer produce Cortisol properly.
When adrenal function declines in this way, the body's rhythm is thrown completely off balance, leading to a range of abnormal symptoms. Even after resting, chronic fatigue and lethargy do not go away, and digestive problems such as loss of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, and weight loss may occur, along with orthostatic hypotension.
The biggest problem is the collapse of sleep patterns. In the morning, Cortisol is not released, leaving the person exhausted all day, while the hormone surges late at night, making it hard to fall asleep. This vicious cycle is difficult to distinguish from simple overwork, and more than half of patients do not visit a hospital until more than a year after symptoms begin.
Five lifestyle habits that help restore the adrenal glands

Fortunately, adrenal fatigue can be significantly eased by correcting everyday habits.
The most important step, as Dawn practices, is to get 10 to 30 minutes of morning sunlight right after waking up. Sunlight helps boost Cortisol secretion in the morning and plays a crucial role in restoring a disrupted circadian rhythm. On the other hand, coffee on an empty stomach, often used to fight fatigue, should be avoided. Caffeine forces already exhausted adrenal glands to work harder, which can worsen the condition over time.
Regular sleep and improved eating habits are also essential. Even if you cannot fall asleep right away, you should go to bed before 10 to 11 p.m. and use blackout curtains or similar tools to improve sleep quality.
For meals, it is better to reduce refined carbohydrates and sugar, which cause blood sugar to spike, and instead eat a natural diet centered on green vegetables rich in magnesium and vitamins B and C. In addition, rather than intense exercise that puts strain on the body, activities that help relax the body, such as a 30-minute walk, yoga, or meditation, can maximize recovery of adrenal function.
