Chung Eui-sun visits NVIDIA headquarters in the U.S., meets CEO Jensen Huang to discuss cooperation on autonomous driving and robotics

[Financial News] Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun visited NVIDIA’s headquarters in the United States and met with CEO Jensen Huang for follow-up discussions on cooperation in autonomous driving and robotics.
With Huang having visited Hyundai Motor Group headquarters last month, Chung’s trip to NVIDIA has fueled expectations that the two companies’ active communication will accelerate cooperation in autonomous driving and other areas.
According to industry sources on the 25th, NVIDIA said on the 24th local time through its social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that Chairman Chung had visited the company’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California, and shared a photo taken with CEO Jensen Huang.
During the visit, Chung and Huang reportedly held follow-up talks on cooperation in autonomous driving, robotics, and manufacturing AI, building on the areas they discussed during Huang’s visit to Korea in June.
On the 8th of last month, Huang visited Hyundai Motor Group headquarters in Seocho District, Seoul, where he met with Chung and discussed cooperation on building the Saemangeum AI Valley.
They also shared broad agreement on wide-ranging cooperation in areas such as autonomous driving, robotics, manufacturing AI, and data centers.
Hyundai Motor Group plans to invest 9 trillion won in stages starting this year in a 1.124 million-square-meter site in Saemangeum to build a future technology innovation growth base spanning robotics, AI, hydrogen energy, solar power generation, and an AI hydrogen city.
Hyundai Motor Group, which has expanded its collaboration with NVIDIA since last year, has secured 50,000 next-generation AI chips, NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, laying the groundwork to strengthen its robotics and autonomous driving businesses.
In addition, the two companies agreed to invest about $3 billion to establish the NVIDIA AI Technology Center and the Hyundai Motor Group Physical AI Application Center in Korea. In March, they also announced plans to begin joint development of next-generation autonomous driving solutions by combining Hyundai Motor Group’s software-defined vehicle (SDV) capabilities with NVIDIA’s autonomous driving technology.
