[Financial News] Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. has begun full-scale shipments of nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) precursor volumes ordered by its clients. The move is expected to serve as a signal of improved performance for the company in the months ahead.
An Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. official said on the 24th, "We have focused on stabilizing the production process and quality control system at the Saemangeum Campus." The official added, "By expanding the product design and mass-production experience accumulated at our existing production base to the Saemangeum Campus, we have further strengthened our production foundation to respond to rising demand for rechargeable battery precursors."
Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. plans to first focus on improving production stability and operational efficiency at the Saemangeum Campus, centered on its existing supply products. Based on process data and quality control experience accumulated as output expands, the company is continuing to improve yield and productivity. It also aims to build a foundation for the stable production of a wider range of precursor products in the future.
Along with expanding production and shipments at the Saemangeum Campus, Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. also plans to advance the commercialization of next-generation precursors. The company is developing customized NCM precursors with differentiated composition, particle size, density and surface characteristics according to EV platforms, battery cell designs and application requirements. It plans to gradually proceed with product evaluation and mass-production conversion.
The official said, "Our existing and new product portfolios are expanding around multiple growth axes, including global EVs and all-solid-state battery materials." The official added, "For EV precursors, we are strengthening our 'precursor foundry' strategy by expanding a customized lineup of NCM products that respond to composition, particle size, density and surface characteristics based on vehicle platforms and battery cell designs."
Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. is advancing precursor design technology that takes into account interfacial stability and reaction characteristics with solid-state electrolytes, with the goal of entering the next-generation all-solid-state battery market. Based on this, the company plans to seek opportunities for joint development and product evaluation with clients, while also laying the technological groundwork to expand its portfolio to related materials, including solid-state electrolytes, over the medium to long term.
In particular, the company plans to actively pursue new clients starting in the second half of this year. Related discussions are under way with partners on multiple business opportunities, including an EV battery localization project for exports to Europe, a supply project for battery companies in North America, and a project to apply its products to global EV models.
The official said, "We view the current correction in the rechargeable battery market as a strategic moment to prepare for the next growth cycle." The official added, "In particular, as demand for EV batteries accelerates from next year, the ESS market grows, next-generation battery technologies transition, and supply chain localization in Europe and North America advances, we expect a 'big tornado' phase in which multiple sources of demand emerge at the same time."
The official continued, "This NCM precursor shipment is meaningful because it expands the production base for precursor products we have already been supplying to the Saemangeum Campus." The official emphasized, "We will steadily raise output and the operating level of the Saemangeum Campus while responding stably to client quality and supply requirements."
Eco&Dream Co., Ltd. is pursuing a strategy of preparing its products, quality and production base in advance so it can supply immediately when the rechargeable battery market begins to recover. It also plans to define a product pipeline that extends from global EV supply to all-solid-state battery materials, and to turn Europe- and North America-centered global projects into tangible results. The official added, "We will make the Saemangeum Campus a real growth engine in the rechargeable battery 'big tornado' era starting next year."
