KOSPI plunges on heavy selling by foreigners and institutions, falls to the 6,780 level [fn morning market report]

[Financial News] KOSPI is falling by more than 4% as it comes under heavy selling pressure from foreigners and institutions.
As of the 24th, it was trading at 6,782.47, down 314.42 points, or 4.43%, from the previous day, according to the Korea Exchange.
On the Korea Exchange Main Board, individual investors were net buyers of 2.9389 trillion won, while foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 1.8817 trillion won and 1.0913 trillion won, respectively.
By sector, pharmaceuticals industry rose 5.79%, food and tobacco gained 1.40%, and paper and wood advanced 1.31%. Electric and Electronics fell 5.79%, Information Technology Services dropped 5.06%, and manufacturing declined 4.88%.
Among the largest companies by market capitalization, Samsung Biologics rose 9.79%, Hanwha Aerospace gained 3.97%, and Celltrion climbed 2.96%. Hyundai Motor Company fell 7.64%, SK Square dropped 7.45%, and Hyundai Mobis Company Limited declined 7.35%.
Large semiconductor stocks were also weak. Samsung Electronics was trading at 255,500 won, down 14,500 won, or 5.37%, from the previous session, while SK hynix was trading at 1.82 million won, down 99,000 won, or 5.16%.
At the same time, KOSDAQ was trading at 759.67, down 30.61 points, or 3.87%, from the previous session. Individual investors were net buyers of 417.5 billion won, while foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 218.8 billion won and 197.5 billion won, respectively.
