[Financial News] Bitcoin fell to the $65,000 level on the 24th. The decline appears to reflect dimming expectations that the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act will pass.
According to global crypto data platform CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin was trading at around $65,000 as of 10:50 a.m., down 1.18% from the previous day on a 24-hour basis. Over the past week, Bitcoin has risen 2.54%.
Bitcoin is trading at around 94 million won in the Korean won market. Based on global crypto market comparison platform Cryprice, the Korea premium stood at -0.49%.
Investor sentiment appears to have weakened somewhat as the Clarity Act has run into difficulties. The United States Senate has begun the legislative process for the bill, but Democrats are opposing ethics provisions related to U.S. President Donald Trump.
Industry watchers say that if the bill fails to pass the full Senate before July 7, ahead of the chamber's long summer recess, the process could be delayed for an extended period. Passage this year would become difficult if the issue overlaps with the schedule for the United States midterm elections in November.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index provided by CoinMarketCap stood at 37 on the day, indicating "fear." The index ranges from 0 to 100, with values closer to 0 interpreted as "extreme fear" and values closer to 100 as "extreme greed."
At the same time, Ethereum was trading at around $1,874, down 2.83% from the previous day. Ripple was trading at around $1.10, down 2.62%.
