[Financial News] Chef Yeo Kyung-ok, who was once known for finishing first in a real-world investment competition, has revealed that she recently suffered a large loss from investing in a single-stock leveraged exchange-traded fund (ETF).
On the 22nd, Yeo posted a screenshot of her stock account on Instagram, saying, "It's sad, but I'll show you an example of an investment failure."
According to the photo, Yeo invested about 120 million won in a leveraged ETF tied to SK hynix, but the current valuation has fallen to the 46 million won range. The paper loss is about 74 million won, and the return rate was calculated at minus 61.38%.
Yeo had previously drawn attention for her stock gains as well. In June, she revealed an account showing unrealized profits of about 245 million won, saying she held 9,000 shares of Samsung E&A, with a return of about 102%.
Yeo's older brother is chef Lu Ching Lai, who appeared on Netflix's original series "Black and White Chef."
Lu Ching Lai once mentioned on a Channel A program that his younger sister had won first place in a real-world investment competition.
Meanwhile, Chef Yeo Kyung-ok runs the Chinese restaurant "Suen190" and has appeared on MBN's "Doctor Chef" and JTBC's "Chicken War of Chefs, Chicken, Fight."
