Bitcoin Reclaims $66,000 on Hopes for Clarity Act Passage [Crypto Briefing]

[Financial News] Bitcoin rose to the $66,000 range on the 22nd as expectations grew that the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act could pass.
According to CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin was trading in the $66,000 range at 10:10 a.m., up 1.40% from 24 hours earlier. It has gained 2.80% over the past week.
Bitcoin is trading in the 97 million won range in the Korean won market. Based on Cryprice, the Korea premium stood at -1.04%.
The Clarity Act had previously been delayed this year as Senate lawmakers remained divided over ethics provisions and other issues. But Eleanor Terrett, host of Crypto in America, said on social media platform X on the 20th local time that "The White House has shared a compromise on the ethics provisions with some Republican senators."
The U.S. government is also viewing the chances of passage this year more favorably. According to foreign media reports, Scott Bessent, United States Secretary of the Treasury, said on the 21st local time that "the Clarity Act is one yard from the goal line." The remark was interpreted as a reference to being on the verge of scoring in American football.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index, provided by CoinMarketCap, stood at 41 on the day, indicating "neutral." The index ranges from 0 to 100, with values closer to 0 interpreted as "extreme fear" and values closer to 100 as "extreme greed."
At the same time, Ethereum was trading in the $1,935 range, up 1.04% from 24 hours earlier. Ripple was up 2.35% and trading around $1.14.
