[Financial News] The Seoul Metropolitan Government is recruiting 300 companies to take part in a job fair for middle-aged workers. Any company seeking to hire workers aged 40 to 64 may apply by August 14, regardless of industry.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said on the 14th that it will sequentially hold five "regional job fairs" and one "middle-aged job fair" at the Seoul 50 Plus Campus and the aT Center. Companies that want to participate may choose their preferred date and location from the six fairs and apply for up to two events.
The "regional job fairs" will begin on August 26 at the Eastern Campus and then be held in sequence at the Eastern, Western, Southern, Northern and Central campuses. The recruitment is aimed at companies offering immediate hiring and on-site interviews, allowing them to meet talent living near their workplaces first. Each campus will also run customized programs tailored to regional characteristics and company demand.
The "middle-aged job fair," to be held on October 20 at the aT Center, will be open not only to companies planning to hire middle-aged workers, but also to "middle-aged-friendly companies" that provide products and services for this age group.
This year, the event has expanded its target participants to include "middle-aged-friendly companies" that support middle-aged people in areas such as health, finance, education, leisure and housing. These companies will introduce their products and services to middle-aged residents on site and provide hands-on experiences and information.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to connect companies with a vetted pool of middle-aged talent through the job fairs and improve hiring efficiency through follow-up matching.
Kang Myeong, head of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, said, "We hope many companies will take part, as this is an opportunity to meet vetted middle-aged talent without any cost burden." He added, "We will provide full support until the end so companies can find the right talent at the time and place they want and turn that into actual hiring."
Participating companies will receive full exemptions from participation fees and booth rental costs, along with operating supplies such as booths, tables and chairs. They will also get post-event talent recommendations and matching support, as well as company promotion, covering the entire hiring process. Applications can be submitted through Job Mongddang (50plus.or.kr) by Friday, August 14, after selecting the desired fair.
