[Financial News] Hwang Dong-hyuk, the director behind Netflix's series 'Squid Game,' and actor Lee Jung-jae are stepping up to support Jung Ho-yeon.
According to distributor Plus M Entertainment on the 20th, Hwang and Lee will hold a talk with audiences on the 22nd, together with Jung Ho-yeon, who stars in the film 'Hope.'
Kim Se-yoon will serve as moderator at the special GV, which begins after the 6:35 p.m. screening on the 22nd.
'Hope' is a story that begins when Beom-seok, the head of the Hopo Port Branch Office located in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), hears from local young people that a tiger has appeared. As the entire village goes on alert, he is confronted with an unbelievable reality.
Earlier, on the release day, the 15th, Na Hong-jin and Bong Joon-ho held a GV at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu.
At the time, Bong described the film as "an astonishing cinematic adventure" and said, "I am grateful for a film that bursts with boldness and madness and shows a true spectacle of cinema. As a fellow filmmaker, I feel thankful."
He was especially impressed by the film's first half, adding, "It is a truly astonishing roller coaster of exhilaration and runaway momentum. There are many elements, including the breath that seems about to break but never does, the thrilling music, and Hong Kyung-pyo's remarkable camera work that seems to glide low over the ground. But what creates this overwhelming suspense and energy? I found myself thinking that while watching the film."
Bong also praised the actors' performances. He said, "Amid all the explosive action, there are actors who carry it through. An actor's gaze completes the action, and in that sense, I was envious."
