[Financial News] Comedian and YouTuber Kim Ji-yu has directly denied rumors that she is moving to Poland and getting married. As a staged scene from her YouTube content spread as if it were real, she clarified on a social networking service that the claims were false.
Kim Ji-yu recently posted a message circulating in an online community that claimed, "Kim Ji-yu announces marriage and emigration," and wrote on her social networking service, "Everyone, 'Fox Club' is a mockumentary. I'm not getting married."
Even someone close to her appears to have taken the post at face value. Jo Hyun Ah of Urban Zakapa wrote on her social networking service story, "Kim Ji-yu says she's not going to Poland. That's ridiculous. Ha, I got fooled," and Kim Ji-yu reshared it, replying, "Where would I go and leave my sister behind!"
The rumor began with a scene from the YouTube channel 'Mimgorithm' content 'Fox Club.' In the video, Kim Ji-yu said while traveling with friends, "I have been staying in touch and seeing Matthew, whom I met at a club in Yongsan," and added, "Matthew is returning to his hometown in Poland, and I decided to go with him."
She also said, "I'm seriously thinking about marriage. I felt like I couldn't let this person go." After the cast members shed tears and said their final goodbyes, the ending of the video showed Kim Ji-yu seemingly leaving 'Fox Club.' Some viewers took the scene as a real-life development.
After the video was released, posts began appearing online asking whether Kim Ji-yu was actually getting married or moving to Poland. The related posts quickly spread across multiple online communities.
The content was produced in the form of a mockumentary that blended real-life situations with staged scenes. As the misunderstanding spread, Kim Ji-yu said on social networking service that it was a "mockumentary" and denied both the marriage and emigration rumors.
Meanwhile, Kim Ji-yu appears in 'Fox Club,' the flagship content of the YouTube channel 'Mimgorithm,' which has about 480,000 subscribers, as well as 'Open for Business' on the YouTube channel '12th Floor.'
