[Financial News] Several U.S. service members were injured in an Iranian strike on a military base in The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
According to foreign media reports on the 18th, Iran has been intensifying attacks on U.S. allies in the Middle East, including The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, in retaliation for the resumption of U.S. airstrikes.
More recently, an attack on The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan left a number of U.S. troops injured. The U.S. and Jordanian governments said there were no fatalities. However, they did not disclose the condition of the injured. The U.S. military uses a Jordanian military base as a hub for operations in the Middle East.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it also attacked a U.S. base in Syria. The U.S. military is known to have withdrawn from that base earlier this year. In an interview with Iranian state broadcaster on the same day, a senior Iranian official said Iran would launch a full-scale offensive if U.S. attacks continued for a certain period.
Meanwhile, the United States has continued airstrikes on the Iranian mainland for seven straight days after Iran attacked ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. military has also deployed 2,000 personnel from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to Iranian waters.
