[Financial News] Fire authorities have raised the alert level in connection with a fire at a Coupang logistics center in the West of Incheon.
According to the Incheon Fire Headquarters on the 18th, fire authorities issued a Level 2 response at around 12:25 p.m. that day at the scene of the fire at the Coupang logistics center in Seoknam-dong, the West of Incheon.
Firefighters initially issued a Level 1 response at around 9:15 a.m., but they raised the alert to Level 2, saying the large interior area and the amount of combustible material would make extinguishing the fire take time.
A Level 1 response means all personnel from the local fire station are dispatched, while a Level 2 response involves mobilizing personnel and equipment from five to six nearby fire stations. If the response escalates to Level 3, the fire chief takes command of the overall operation and reports directly to the head of the local government.
It was reported that 219 firefighters and other personnel, along with 79 pieces of equipment including pump trucks, are currently being deployed to put out the fire.
The fire broke out at around 6:54 a.m. on the sixth floor of Coupang 32 logistics center in Seoknam-dong, the West of Incheon. There have been no reported casualties, and 121 employees and others evacuated on their own.
