[Financial News] Model-turned actress and broadcaster Byun Jung-soo said she has achieved significant gains through stock investing using generative artificial intelligence (AI).
In a video released on the YouTube channel "Red Cheeked Sisters" on the 15th, a clip titled "Finally, the full lineup!! A Bangkok trip by actresses reunited after a year. And those swimsuit fits, wow" was uploaded.
The video showed Byun Jung-soo, Bae Jong-ok, and Yoon Hyun-sook on a trip to Bangkok, Thailand. For their first stop, the three planned to visit a secondhand luxury goods store.
When Byun Jung-soo searched for a shopping list, Yoon Hyun-sook said, "Should we ask ChatGPT? It gives surprisingly good answers. It's amazing."
Byun Jung-soo then said, "I started investing in stocks because of ChatGPT too," adding, "As the saying goes, an unskilled shaman can get people hurt, so I started buying one share, then two shares, from last September."
Bae Jong-ok asked, "So did it go up a lot?" Byun Jung-soo replied, "I've already taken out my principal, and now I'm only reinvesting the profits," drawing attention.
Byun Jung-soo also mentioned SK hynix as one of her specific investments. She explained, "I bought it at around 1.75 million won, and it rose to 2.7 million won at the time of filming." Hearing that, Bae Jong-ok exclaimed, "It almost doubled."

More investors have recently been using ChatGPT to analyze company information and market trends. They are using it not only for portfolio management, but also for summarizing stock books and selecting stocks to buy.
According to a survey conducted in March by Investing.com of 938 U.S. retail investors, 62% said they were using AI in their investment decisions. Of those, 23.6% said they used AI regularly. In addition, 26.6% of respondents said they had invested several times by following AI-generated trading ideas.
Experts say that because different AI models can offer different investment views, users should first form their own opinion on whether to buy a particular stock, then ask for a range of perspectives to improve their judgment rather than directly asking whether to buy or sell.
