[Financial News] The initial public offering (IPO) timetable for artificial intelligence company Anthropic has entered the countdown phase. As the company has begun private investor meetings, known as Test-the-Waters, a late-stage IPO step for institutional investors, analysts say the IPO process, expected as early as October, is now moving into full swing.
Following Anthropic, OpenAI is also pursuing an IPO, while Chinese AI company DeepSeek has announced plans to list in China this year. With major global AI companies lining up for IPOs in the second half of the year, the AI industry is expected to enter a new turning point.
On the 15th, CNBC and other foreign media outlets reported that Anthropic had begun private investor meetings with institutional investors. These meetings are a late-stage IPO process used to gauge post-listing valuation and the size of the offering before the official roadshow. Global institutional investors and major asset managers are reportedly taking part.

Anthropic has already submitted a confidential Form S-1 to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Based on its most recent funding round, the company is valued at about $96.5 billion, or roughly 143 trillion won.
Experts view Anthropic's IPO as more than a simple stock market debut. They see it as a turning point that could shape investment flows across the AI industry.
Until now, the AI market has grown on the back of massive private investment, but the lack of listed companies has limited opportunities for ordinary investors to directly participate in the sector's growth. Through IPOs, however, the market will begin to assess AI companies' growth potential.
As the AI industry enters a more mature phase, it is expected to move away from a funding model that has relied on venture capital and strategic investment from big tech companies. Instead, large-scale fundraising through public markets is likely to accelerate. Experts say this will provide the foundation for growth in an industry that requires enormous investment not only in AI model development, but also in AI data center construction, semiconductor procurement, and global service expansion.
In particular, with major AI companies such as OpenAI and DeepSeek also preparing for IPOs after Anthropic, new valuation benchmarks are expected to emerge for the AI industry.
