[Financial News] Broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk expressed concern over the spread of drug abuse in South Korea and the growing ease of access.

On the 15th episode of tvN's variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereinafter 'You Quiz'), Son Hee-min, the head of a narcotics investigation team, appeared as a guest. He was introduced as someone who also holds a law license to strengthen his investigative expertise.
During the show, Yoo Jae-suk asked, "I was surprised when you introduced that. 650,000 drug users?" Son Hee-min replied, "Even while working in the field, there were several moments that made me realize how serious this is. There was a case where someone injected propofol with a syringe in the middle of Gangnam, where people were walking around, and collapsed."
Yoo Jae-suk also raised the issue of drug use among younger people. He said, "South Korea lost its status as a drug-free country a long time ago, and warning signs are appearing everywhere. I heard that drug use is common among people in their 20s and 30s," expressing concern. Son Hee-min responded, "The trend toward younger users is clear. Based on last year, 59.4% of drug offenders were in their 20s and 30s. I worry that the zombie land seen on Philadelphia's drug streets in the U.S. could unfold here as well."
The falling price of drugs and easier access were cited as reasons they have become closer to everyday life.

Son Hee-min said, "There are many factors at play. Above all, the unit price of drugs has fallen significantly. For example, a single dose of methamphetamine now costs around 20,000 to 30,000 won. Some people even say drugs cost about the same as a pizza. As the psychological barrier comes down and access becomes easier, lower prices have created an environment where more people can get them."
