[Financial News] Actor Kim Soo-hyun has been seen resuming his official activities after 1 year and 4 months.
According to the entertainment industry on the 15th, the Philippine clothing brand Bench released photos of Kim Soo-hyun on its official social networking service the previous day, along with a post saying, "We are back together with the Bench family."
The released photos show Kim Soo-hyun smiling brightly while holding a large bouquet of flowers.
The photos were reportedly taken at a photoshoot set.
In the background, balloons shaped like Kim Soo-hyun's English initials, "SH," were also placed, hinting at the atmosphere on set.
Kim Soo-hyun is said to have resumed activities that day by filming an advertising video and a photoshoot for Bench.
Earlier, Kim Soo-hyun had been caught up in allegations that he dated the late Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor. His agency, Gold Medalist, has repeatedly stated that the two dated after she became an adult.
It was reported that YouTube channel operator Kim Se-eui had continued to claim that Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor, and that pressure from Kim Soo-hyun's side to repay debts played a role in the circumstances surrounding her death.
However, investigative authorities determined that the voice recordings and KakaoTalk messages released by Kim Se-eui had been manipulated using artificial intelligence technology.
As a result, Kim Se-eui was indicted and detained in May on charges including violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, defamation by spreading false information, violations of the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes, violations of the Act on Punishment of Sexual Crimes, attempted coercion, and intimidation.
Kim Soo-hyun's side reportedly expressed gratitude through an official statement to those who had spoken out for a long time and worked to uncover the truth, even though they were not directly involved in the case.
However, legal risks remain ongoing, including lawsuits stemming from contract cancellations and damage to brand image after the allegations surfaced.
Kim Soo-hyun is currently facing damages claims totaling tens of billions of won from major advertisers including FromBio, Cuckoo Electronics, and Trendmaker.
Industry insiders are closely watching how this official return to activities may affect the possibility of settling existing legal disputes and maintaining remaining advertising contracts.
