U.S. strikes Iran ahead of renewed Strait of Hormuz blockade... Iran says it attacked U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait

The U.S. military resumed airstrikes on Iranian targets just before Iran reimposed its blockade of ports and coastal areas in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement posted on social media platform X on the 14th local time, USCENTCOM said it had resumed airstrikes on Iran one hour before the strait was blocked again. It said the strikes were aimed at "weakening Iran's ability to attack merchant ships" in the Strait of Hormuz.
The renewed blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is set to begin at 5 a.m. on the 15th, Korea time.
Iran said it had attacked U.S. bases in the Gulf region.
According to Iran's state broadcaster IRIB, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it carried out missile and drone strikes targeting U.S. bases in Bahrain and Kuwait on the day. It also warned that if U.S. attacks continue, it would impose full control over oil and gas exports from the Middle East.
In a statement, the IRGC public affairs office claimed it destroyed several drones by striking an arms depot at Sheikh Isa Base in Bahrain, a storage facility for U.S. ships and aircraft parts, and a launch site for U.S. MQ-9 drones at Ali Al Salem Base in Kuwait.
In response, Kuwait and Bahrain said they intercepted projectiles launched from Iran.
