KOSPI Ends Slightly Higher as Individuals and Institutions Battle for Control [Market Close]

[Financial News] KOSPI ended the session on the 9th slightly higher as individual and institutional investors battled for control.
The index closed at 7,291.91, up 45.12 points, or 0.62%, from the previous trading day. It opened at 7,486.64, up 239.85 points, or 3.31%, and moved back and forth throughout the session.
In the Korea Exchange Main Board, institutions bought 1.2879 trillion won worth of shares and foreign investors purchased 146.1 billion won worth, while individual investors sold 1.3307 trillion won worth.
Among the 14 largest stocks by market capitalization, SK hynix rose the most, up 5.30%, followed by SK Square at 4.49% and Samsung Electro-Mechanics at 0.95%. Samsung Electronics, the top stock by market value, closed at 278,000 won, up 0.18% from the previous session. On the other hand, Hanwha Aerospace fell the most, down 8.45%, followed by Kia at 7.65%, Samsung Life Insurance at 5.78%, and Samsung C&T Corporation at 4.18%.
KOSDAQ closed at 794.00, up 9 points, or 1.15%, from the previous trading day. The index opened at 794.03, up 9.03 points, or 1.15%.
