[Financial News] Official renderings of Samsung Electronics' next-generation foldable phones, which will be unveiled at the Galaxy Unpack launch event in London, United Kingdom, on the 22nd, have been leaked.
According to Android Headlines, a tech outlet overseas, on the 9th, the new wide-format Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature a 5.5-inch QHD Plus display. When unfolded, the outer screen is said to have a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The rear camera is expected to use a dual-camera setup without a telephoto lens. It is expected to weigh 200 grams and measure 4.5 mm thick when unfolded and 9.7 mm when folded.
The mobile application processor, the "brain" of the smartphone, will reportedly be Qualcomm's advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It will come with 12GB of RAM and three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The battery capacity is 4,800mAh, and charging speed is 25W.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, will be released with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12GB of RAM, and three storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. Its 5,000mAh battery is expected to be the largest ever in a Galaxy Z Fold model. Maximum charging speed is 45W.
For the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to be used in North America and China, while Samsung Electronics' in-house Exynos 2600 is reportedly set for South Korea, Europe, and South America.
It will also feature a 4,300mAh battery, 25W wired charging, and a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics released an invitation the previous day announcing that it will hold Galaxy Unpack at 10 p.m. on the 22nd at Old Billingsgate in London, United Kingdom. The invitation was designed to look as if the top of a ticket were being cut off, effectively confirming the launch of a wide model with a 4:3 aspect ratio.
At the center of the invitation, Samsung included a blue and green logo symbolizing Galaxy AI, along with the phrase "A New Shape Unfolds," signaling a more advanced version of Galaxy AI.
