[Financial News] A man who wore AI glasses on a date, secretly filmed the woman he was with, and then spread the footage online has been caught by police. Investigators found that he deceived the woman by cleverly covering the recording indicator light on the glasses.
On the 8th, Seoul Gangseo Police Station said it is investigating a man identified as A on suspicion of illegally filming his date with AI glasses.
According to police, A is accused of secretly filming a woman he was dating while covering the recording indicator light on his Meta AI glasses, then posting the footage without permission on a social networking service.
He reportedly told the victim that the device was for work, in an apparent attempt to avoid suspicion.
A is said to have manually covered the LED indicator that lights up when the AI glasses are in use, preventing the other person from realizing that he was recording. He was later caught after uploading the footage to his social networking service account.
Police plan to continue the investigation based on the digital devices and materials secured from A. In particular, they are leaving open the possibility that he may have filmed other parts of the woman's body and intend to handle the case strictly by applying sexual offense charges.
