Trump Says Meloni Did Not Help the United States in Iran War

[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump took a swipe at Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, saying she "did not help the United States in the Iran war." In March, Italy refused to allow a U.S. military aircraft to land at an air base in Sicily before heading to the Middle East, saying the United States had not requested prior approval to use the base.
On the 7th local time, Trump said, "Our relationship has become a little strained because Prime Minister Meloni refused to help us on the Iran issue." He added, "I like her, and she is a great person, but I think she made a mistake."
Earlier, Trump claimed during last month's G7 Summit in France that Meloni had repeatedly begged to take a photo with him. Meloni later criticized Trump, saying he had made up the story.
