Stock Market Polarization Continues: KOSPI Up 3.6%, KOSDAQ Down 2.4% [fn Afternoon Market Update]

[Financial News] KOSPI turned higher during the session, but the KOSDAQ Index remained in negative territory.
As of 1 p.m. on the 3rd, KOSPI was trading at 7,927.31, up 279.22 points, or 3.65%, from the previous session.
KOSPI opened at 7,739.75, up 91.66 points, or 1.20%, from the previous day, but heavy foreign selling drove sharp intraday volatility. At one point, it fell as much as 269.99 points, or 3.53%, to 7,378.10.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ Index was trading at 845.95, down 20.77 points, or 2.40%, from the previous day. After closing down 62.63 points, or 6.74%, on the previous day, KOSDAQ fell by nearly 5% intraday and even slipped below the 830 level.
Samsung Electronics was trading at 307,000 won, up 7.34% from the previous session, while SK hynix was trading at 2,305,000 won, down 5.40% from the previous day.
In the main bourse, foreign investors were net sellers of 1.5071 trillion won at the time. Individuals were also net sellers, by 848 billion won. Institutions, meanwhile, were the only net buyers, purchasing 2.2848 trillion won.
In the KOSDAQ market, individuals bought 112.3 billion won, while foreign investors and institutions sold 30.5 billion won and 93.1 billion won, respectively.
