Iran Says Doha Talks Ended, Communication Channel to Be Set Up to Discuss MOU Violations

Iran said on the 1st, local time, that talks with the United States had ended in Doha, Qatar.
Al Jazeera reported this, citing a report from the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister, said the talks, with Qatar and Pakistan serving as mediators, had ended. He added that a communication channel between the United States and Iran would be established to report and discuss violations of the previous memorandum of understanding (MOU).
Gharibabadi, who led Iran's working-level negotiating team, also said that part of the $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets would be used to purchase goods needed by Iran.
According to Gharibabadi, the Iranian delegation held two rounds of talks in the form of joint meetings with representatives from the mediating countries, including Qatar and Pakistan, but did not meet directly with the U.S. side.
Gharibabadi said the talks focused on the Lebanon issue and ways to release frozen assets, adding that both sides agreed to establish the communication channel by the 2nd.
