[Financial News] TWICE's Ji-hyo and Grammy-recognized Sencia are releasing a summer song.
Musicow US said on the 1st that it will release the collaboration track "Distant Lover" by Ji-hyo and Sencia on the 10th through its "fandom project."
Sencia, who has been nominated for the Grammy Awards twice, is a leading artist in dancehall, a music genre that developed in Jamaica in the late 1970s. She has more than 100 million listeners worldwide. Having worked on major collaborations with global artists including Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage and Sean Paul, the diva will now team up with a K-pop artist for the first time through "Distant Lover."
"Distant Lover" is an Afrobeats track that suits the summer season.
Musicow previously released "Something Special," a collaboration between actor Ahn Hyo-seop, who voiced Jinu in Netflix's animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," and global R&B artist Khalid, worldwide in May. "Something Special" is a smooth and emotional R&B song.
Through its fandom project with global entertainment company Roc Nation, Musicow is expanding opportunities for collaborations between Korean and U.S. artists and building a structure that allows fans to take a more active role in the creation and growth of music.
A Musicow official said, "The core of the fandom project is to create new musical experiences for fans by fostering close exchanges between global artists at home and abroad."
