[Financial News] The agency of CORTIS has issued an official apology over the controversy surrounding the group’s delayed boarding of a flight.
According to Newsis and others on the 30th of last month, Big Hit Music said that CORTIS boarded late on a Paris-to-Incheon flight on the 26th of the same month, delaying the aircraft’s departure. The agency explained, "Boarding was delayed due to traffic congestion caused by a car accident," and added, "We sincerely apologize to the passengers who were inconvenienced by this."
Earlier, posts spread online claiming that CORTIS had missed the boarding time for a flight from Paris to Incheon International Airport, causing the plane’s takeoff to be delayed.
On the 29th of last month, a post titled "Male idol causes flight departure delay by arriving late at the airport" appeared on FM Korea.
The author, identified as A, shared a video along with the caption, "Scheduled departure time was 2:40 p.m., last call was 2:15 p.m., he boarded the plane at 2:45 p.m., and departure time was 3:18 p.m." The video also fueled controversy by alleging that CORTIS had once changed clothes on the boarding bridge, blocking the path of ordinary passengers.
While the agency apologized for the delayed boarding, it denied the allegation that the group blocked passengers on the boarding bridge and changed clothes there. Regarding CORTIS staying on the bridge, the agency said, "After returning from a schedule in Japan last October, they were the last to exit after all passengers had disembarked and were organizing their belongings."
It also rejected claims that the group boarded late when departing for a performance in Japan in May, saying, "They boarded well before the boarding deadline."
Meanwhile, the agency said the previous day that it would take legal action over the spread of false information and illegal trading of airline ticket information related to CORTIS, stating, "We will pursue all possible legal measures without any settlement or leniency."
