Venezuela earthquake death toll rises to 1,430; 68,900 people missing

[Financial News] Casualties from the series of powerful earthquakes that struck Venezuela are rising rapidly. Three days after the quake, the death toll had climbed to 1,430, while the number of missing people was estimated at 68,900.
According to foreign media on the 27th local time, Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, said the death toll from the series of earthquakes that hit the country on the 24th had risen to 1,430.
That is an increase of more than 500 from the 920 reported the previous day. The number of injured was also put at 3,238.
As of this morning, at least 68,900 missing people had been confirmed through reports from their families.
Earlier, two powerful quakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 struck one after another along Venezuela's northern Caribbean coast on the 24th.
As the 72-hour "golden time" for rescuing survivors nears, Venezuelan authorities, international rescue teams, and citizens are continuing search operations to save as many survivors as possible.
