[Financial News] On the 25th, President Lee Jae-myung said that, in connection with the massive loss of life caused by a powerful earthquake in Venezuela, "I extend my deepest condolences, on behalf of the people and government of the Republic of Korea, to the victims and bereaved families who have lost their precious loved ones and homes in this sudden disaster."
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) that day, Lee said he could not hide his sorrow after hearing that a series of earthquakes of magnitude 7 or higher had struck Yaracuy State in northwestern Venezuela. He added the remarks above.
Lee also said, "I hope for the swift recovery from the damage, the speedy recovery of the injured, and the safe return of those missing." He added, "I hope you can return to your peaceful daily lives as soon as possible."
