KOSPI triggers sidecar again, surges more than 5% in bid to reclaim the 9,000 level

As of 9:03 a.m. that day, KOSPI stood at 8,934.84, up 463.82 points, or 5.48%, from the previous trading session. It opened at 8,703.42, up 2.74% from the previous session, and has continued to extend its gains.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index was at 917.30, up 0.88% from the previous close.
