[Financial News] President Lee Jae-myung returned home on the 18th after finishing his Europe tour. At the welcome ceremony, Jung Chung-rae bowed at about 90 degrees to greet Lee, and the president told him, "You worked hard."
Lee and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung arrived at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, at around 11:34 a.m. that day. Lee wore a navy suit with a diagonal tricolor tie in burgundy, black and white, while Kim wore a white two-piece suit.
The presidential couple emerged from Code One, bowed in greeting, and then descended the stairs together. Kim linked arms with Lee as they walked.
The welcome ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, Vice Interior Minister Kim Min-jae, Democratic Party leader Jung Chung-rae, floor leader Han Byung-do, Chief of Staff to the President Kang Hoon-sik, Senior Presidential Secretary for Political Affairs Hong Ik-pyo, First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon-joo, and the commander of the Air Force's 15th Special Missions Wing.
After stepping off the stairs, Lee shook hands in turn with Kim, Kim Min-jae, Jung, Han, Kang and Hong. Kim bowed at about 75 degrees, while Jung bent forward about 90 degrees.
Lee did not say much to Kim, but when he shook hands with Jung, he said, "You worked hard." The presidential couple boarded a waiting vehicle at around 11:36 a.m.
Lee carried out his Europe tour from the 9th, visiting Belgium, the European Union, Italy, the Holy See and Evian-les-Bains in France for the G7 summit.
