[Financial News] A threatening comment targeting the Seoul Songpa Police Station was posted online in connection with the protest blocking the ballot-counting center at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park in Seoul's Songpa District, and police have begun tracing the author.
According to Yonhap News Agency on the 18th, police confirmed a comment posted the previous day on a news article by one media outlet that read, "Let's raid the armory at Seoul Songpa Police Station and become democracy heroes too."
Police judged the comment to be a matter that could threaten public safety and launched an investigation. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency assigned the case to Jungnang Police Station, and the author is reportedly being traced.
A police official said, "After identifying the commenter, we plan to investigate how the post was made and whether there was any real intent to carry it out," adding, "Depending on the findings, we will consider whether to apply charges of public intimidation."
The threatening comment appeared in connection with the ongoing protest blocking the ballot-counting center at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Olympic Park.
It was also reported that comments mentioning the making of firearms or the need to be armed had previously appeared online and on social networking services in relation to the protest.
