[Financial News] Jung Chung-rae, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Prime Minister Kim Min-seok are expected to attend the welcome ceremony for President Lee Jae Myung's return on the 18th.
In a notice on the 17th, Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung said, "Government officials, including the Prime Minister and the Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as well as Democratic Party of Korea leaders, including the party leader and floor leader, are expected to attend tomorrow's (18th) welcome event for President Lee's return."
President Lee is scheduled to return home on the 18th after completing his European trip for the Group of Seven (G7) summit and related events.
Government officials, including Prime Minister Kim and the Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, will attend the event. From the Democratic Party of Korea, party leaders including Jung and floor leader Han Byung-do are expected to be present.
At President Lee's departure ceremony at Seoul Air Base on the 9th, no Democratic Party of Korea leaders attended, drawing political attention. Cheong Wa Dae later said it had minimized the number of send-off attendees, citing domestic conditions such as tensions in the Middle East and election management issues.
