[Financial News] Broadcaster Mija, whose real name is Jang Yoon-hee, shared her investment experience, saying she recently tried stock investing again but suffered heavy losses.
On the 15th, Mija posted a video on her YouTube channel, "Mija Tavern," showing her having a meal and talking with her husband, Kim Tae Hyun, and acquaintance Jang Young. During the conversation, she discussed stocks and opened up about her failed investment experience.
When Jang Young, who appeared with her, said, "I've been investing in stocks for about four to five years," Mija recalled a story about how she once started investing in stocks with Jang Young and ended up taking losses.
Mija's husband, Kim Tae Hyun, added, "She bought Samsung Electronics before and got stuck with it." Mija explained, "I bought it in the 86,000-won range and sold it in the 97,000-won range, but recently I re-entered the stock market." The problem, however, was the stock she chose.
Kim Tae Hyun explained, "Samsung Electronics and Hynix had already gone up too much, so she couldn't get in and invested in construction stocks instead." Mija honestly admitted, "Within just a few days of investing, I was down 20%. I lost tens of millions of won." She also revealed her reason for investing, saying, "I thought construction would be the first sector to rise once the war ends."
Contrary to Mija's expectations, stocks related to artificial intelligence (AI) and semiconductors posted strong gains, while construction stocks fell amid a range of factors, including policy changes and interest rates. Jang Young, who said she had invested in SK hynix, noted that unlike Mija, she had made more than four times her money and added, "I got in at an average price of 490,000 won for SK hynix."
Meanwhile, Mija, born in 1984, is the daughter of actor Jang Gwang and married comedian Kim Tae Hyun, who is four years older than her, in 2022.
