According to industry sources on the 15th, Dangsan in Seoul has been highlighted as the first location for the NVIDIA AITC. This is because a job posting for NVIDIA's Seoul AITC on a recruitment platform listed the workplace as the 'SK V1 Center' in Dangsan, Seoul. However, the job posting on NVIDIA's official website currently lists the workplace as simply Seoul. In reality, a software company named Baynex is located at the address of the 'SK V1 Center' listed as the actual workplace. This company also serves as NVIDIA's exclusive distributor in Korea and occupies four units in the building.
A Baynex official stated, "(Bainex) has no plans to relocate, and if the center is established in Dangsan as per the recruitment notice, it seems more likely that we will move into a newly constructed building nearby rather than here. " Two buildings of the 'SK V1 Tower,' which were completed last week, stand nearby. They are currently vacant.
Previously, during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyung-hoon on the 8th, CEO Hwang stated in response to requests for investment and cooperation regarding the physical AI ecosystem, "We plan to provide active support, including establishing the NVIDIA AI Technology Center within the year.
" The area near NVIDIA Korea is also being mentioned. NVIDIA Korea is currently located in the Trade Tower in Samseong-dong, Seoul. The office is divided into three sections, each situated on a different floor. The Gangnam area, a hub for related industries in Seoul, has also been considered. These include the Seoul AI Hub and the IT complex Gaepo Digital Innovation Park, operated by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, as well as the Gangnam ICT Robot Living Lab within the Asia ICT Center, operated by Gangnam-gu. Furthermore, with the Seoul Metropolitan Government emphasizing the creation of a robot-friendly city connecting Yangjae and Suseo earlier this year, synergistic effects are also anticipated. Google DeepMind, which decided to open the 'Google AI Campus' in Seoul this past April, plans to remodel the existing Google Startup Campus building to use as the AI Campus. This building is located in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and measures 1,980 square meters (approximately 600 pyeong).
Areas adjacent to Korean companies involved in high-tech are also being mentioned. A prime example is Magok, which has been designated as an urban development zone by the Seoul Metropolitan Government. According to the city, a site of 125,000 square meters—representing 17% of the Magok urban development zone—remains undeveloped. Of this, 75,000 square meters is reserved for fostering future industries such as AI. There are also some vacancies remaining at 'One Grove,' a newly built mixed-use office complex in Magok that is famous.
