[Financial News] The People Power Party has completed the formation of its floor leadership team centered on floor leader Jeong Jeom-sik. Since Jeong stressed "integration" in his inaugural remarks, the party said the lineup was arranged with a focus on broad inclusion.
Kim Seung-soo, senior deputy floor leader for operations, met with reporters at The National Assembly of the Republic of Korea on the 15th and announced the list of nominees for the floor leadership. Earlier, Jeong said on the 12th that he had named lawmaker Kim Seung-soo as senior deputy floor leader for operations and lawmaker Kim Mi-ae as senior deputy floor leader for policy.
Eight lawmakers were named as deputy floor leaders: Kim Dae-sik, Park Sang-woong, Park Choong-kwon, Kim Min-jeon, Yu Yong-won, Kim Ki-woong, Im Jong-deuk, and Seo Myung-ok. Among them, Yu is classified as a pro-Han Dong-hoon figure who is at odds with the party leadership.
Lawmaker Park Soo-min was appointed as special aide for policy to the floor leader, while lawmaker Yoon Yong-geun was named chief of staff. Park previously served as chief of staff under floor leader Song Eon-seok, and Yoon entered the National Assembly in this election.
Choi Su-jin and Choi Eun-seok, who served in Song's floor leadership, were retained as senior deputy floor spokespersons. Kim Tae-gyu, who entered the National Assembly in the June 3 by-elections, was newly appointed.
Kim, the senior deputy floor leader for operations, explained the appointments by saying, "We focused on integration and broad inclusion," adding that the lineup was designed so that all 110 lawmakers could become "Team 110."
