[Financial News] Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on the 14th (local time) that the United States and Iran had abruptly agreed to a peace deal.
Sharif said on X that "after intensive talks, I am pleased to announce that a peace agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been reached."
He added that "both sides have declared the immediate and permanent end of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon."
Sharif also said the signing ceremony for the peace agreement will be held in Switzerland on the 19th.
He also expressed gratitude to the United States and Iran for resolving the war through diplomacy, as well as to mediator Qatar.
He also said Saudi Arabia and Türkiye contributed to the negotiations, adding, "I also extend special thanks to the visionary leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey for their tremendous contribution in this regard."
