  [Financial News, Rome, Italy = Reporter Choi Jong-geun]President Lee Jae-myung, who is on a state visit to Italy, will attend the Korea-Italy Business Roundtable on the afternoon of the 12th local time. The meeting will discuss ways to strengthen economic cooperation between South Korea and Italy. More than 30 business leaders from both countries, including Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, along with government officials and representatives from associations and organizations, will take part, bringing the total attendance to around 40. They will explore practical ways to expand cooperation.
According to The Blue House, President Lee is expected to attend the Korea-Italy Business Roundtable at a hotel in downtown Rome and emphasize the importance of economic cooperation between South Korea and Italy amid artificial intelligence and supply chain restructuring. Earlier, after holding a summit with Italian President Sergio Mattarella on the 11th, Lee attended the state banquet. There, Lee and Mattarella also shared a private conversation with Chairman Lee Jae-yong and Ferrari Chairman John Elkann.
On the Korean side, the roundtable will be attended by Chairman Lee, Federation of Korean Industries Chairman Ryu Jin, LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-eun, Hyosung Group Chairman Cho Hyun-joon, Samyang Foods Chairwoman Kim Jung-soo, Hyundai Motor Company President Sung Kim, LG Chem President Kim Dong-joon, NAVER CEO Choi Soo-yeon, and HD Construction Equipment President Moon Jae-young.
From Italy, participants will include Italian Business Federation Vice Chairman Marciai, Fincantieri Chairman Mazzotta, Ferrari CEO Vigna, Eni CEO Petrachini, and KIKO Milano CEO Simone Dominici.
As leading business figures from both countries gather in one place, the roundtable is expected to serve as an opportunity to expand diplomatic achievements into private-sector economic cooperation.
