[Financial News] The United States military said on the 10th local time that it had launched additional strikes against Iran.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East, said on X (formerly Twitter) that it had launched additional defensive strikes at 5:15 p.m. Eastern Time today, or 6:15 a.m. on the 11th in Korea, against multiple targets inside Iran.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had also warned earlier in the day of strikes on Iran's "key facilities."
Speaking to reporters at U.S. Central Command Headquarters in central Florida, Hegseth said, "CENTCOM is going to be busy tonight."
Referring to Iran, Hegseth warned, "You can see someone tap tap tapping about an agreement, meaning they are trying to drag things out. Instead, they are going to see bombs from the United States tap tap tap on Iran's key facilities."
He added, "Iran has a chance to make a good deal, and it has had a chance to formalize what it has said it is willing to do, but it has not done so."
CENTCOM said, "This strike is a response to Iran's unjustified and ongoing provocations."
It did not disclose the specific facilities or areas that were targeted.
Earlier, President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that "we hit Iran hard yesterday. We will hit Iran even harder again today," signaling his intent to continue the offensive.
