[Financial News] Han Seong-sook, the nominee for prime minister, said on the 8th, "If I am entrusted with the heavy responsibility of serving as prime minister, I will first devote all efforts to overcoming the current emergency in people’s livelihoods and the economy."
At the Financial Supervisory Service Training Institute that day, Han said in remarks on her nomination, "At this turning point as the administration enters its second year, I feel a very heavy sense of responsibility at being nominated as prime minister," and added that she would focus on the task.
Han explained, "Over the past year, Prime Minister Kim Min-seok has served as a key pillar in restoring democracy and laying the foundation for national normalization after the insurrection." She added, "As the first prime minister of the Lee Jae Myung administration, I deeply appreciate the prime minister’s hard work in leading national recovery and achieving remarkable results. I also feel a profound sense of duty and responsibility to carry those achievements forward."
She also stressed, "In the second year, I believe we must build on the policy achievements of the past year and accelerate the spread of tangible, visible changes that the public can truly feel."
Han said, "Amid industrial restructuring accelerated by AI and a complex global crisis, I will focus on speeding up the AI transformation and driving innovation." She added, "We must also transform the structure so that the benefits lead to opportunities and growth for all South Koreans. With a strong sense of mission, I will give it my all."
In particular, Han said, "I will listen carefully to voices from all sectors of society and work to untangle the knots of conflict." She added, "I will communicate sincerely with the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, foster close cooperation among ministries, and always remain humble as I work for a South Korea where everyone can prosper together."
Han added, "I promise to approach the National Assembly's confirmation hearing with sincerity and humility."
