On the 7th, a post titled “Brothers, the long-awaited Part 3 of the money brag is here” appeared on the anonymous workplace community Blind.
The writer, who introduced themselves as an SK hynix employee, said, “Starting with a donation to an orphanage in February, a relay of fundraising for the library continued, and at last the library renovation has been completed, so I came to share the news.”
They added, “I wanted to create a space even better than originally planned, but because it is a facility related to a government agency, there were limits due to administrative procedures and bidding issues. Still, I am grateful that the old restroom has been renovated and that the children now have a place to study and read.”
They continued, “A total of 250 people joined the donations, and together we completed a shelter and study room for the children. I am happy and deeply moved to have been able to do something good with everyone who shared such warm hearts.”

“If you have an unused air purifier, home audio system, or comic books at home, please give them to us.”

The writer also asked for additional support.
They said, “If you have an unused air purifier, home audio system, game console, or comic books that children can read, they would be a great help.”
They added, “Even if we do not leave a huge mark on the world, it still means something to have shown children warmth and love. I hope this experience remains a good memory in their hearts and helps them grow up with strong values.”
The photos released with the post show the library before and after the transformation. Before the renovation, the space looked cramped, with various boxes and folding desks scattered around. Afterward, it was turned into a study area with desks and chairs arranged along the windows. The bookshelves were filled with books, and the restroom was also transformed into a clean space with new facilities.
The project began with the writer’s donation activity in February. At the time, they shared a story under the title, “Let me brag a little today. I spent some money,” describing a visit to an orphanage in Sejong City where they delivered pizza, fruit, and snacks. The post drew a strong response, with about 1,000 supportive comments and a wave of donation verification posts.
Ten days later, more than 350 people had joined, raising about 32 million won in donations, and one pizza company was reported to have promised regular monthly support. The writer did not stop there. They unveiled a plan to build a library for the children at the orphanage and launched another fundraising effort, and this time they shared the result.
Netizens applauded the effort, leaving comments such as, “Having money does not mean everyone shares it,” “It was a small amount, but it feels rewarding to have taken part,” “Thank you for sharing the results,” and “This kind of money bragging is always welcome.”
Meanwhile, SK hynix posted record annual results last year, with sales of 97.1467 trillion won and operating profit of 47.2063 trillion won, the highest since the company was founded. Based on those results, it was reported that the company paid bonuses earlier this year amounting to about 150 million won for employees with annual salaries around 100 million won.
