[Financial News]   Lee Sang-hyeok, the living legend of League of Legends (LoL) known as "Faker," expressed his gratitude after meeting NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang.
On the 7th, Lee posted on his Instagram account, "It is an honor to meet Jensen Huang, a leader in gaming technology. It is always a pleasure to meet someone who loves games as much as we do. I hope you have a great time in Korea."
The photo released with the message shows Lee personally signing a T1 uniform for Huang. Huang is seen looking at him with a bright smile.
Huang, who visited Korea on the 5th, began his schedule by visiting the T1 Base Camp in Mapo District, Seoul, where he met Lee and the rest of the T1 roster. There, he showed a deep affection for Korea's esports culture.
Huang said, "Korea is the birthplace of esports," adding, "When I visited Korea in the past, StarCraft was the most popular game. Korea is the country that established esports as a genre and built its spectator culture."
He has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the Korean gaming market. At a previous NVIDIA event, he noted, "Without Korea's PC bang culture and esports, NVIDIA as it exists today would not have been possible," praising the influence of Korea's gaming industry.
Lee also said, "Many people helped me and provided technical support before I succeeded as a pro gamer." He added, "Since a graphics card is an essential element for gamers, meeting CEO Jensen Huang, who is driving technological innovation, was a very meaningful time."
Lee's post drew an enthusiastic response from fans of various nationalities.
Along with comments such as "A meeting of gods" and "Jensen Huang seems unable to hide his smile in such a satisfying meeting," users also posted witty remarks like "Meeting GOAT-hyuk up close—Jensen Huang must be jealous," "Jensen Huang made it. He got to see Faker," "Jensen Huang is jealous," and "Jensen Huang became a successful fan."
