[Financial News] The United States and Iran exchanged military attacks again on the 6th (local time) as their unstable ceasefire continued.
According to foreign media reports on the 6th, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement that it had fired ballistic missiles at U.S. bases in Kuwait and Bahrain in response to U.S. attacks. The IRGC also said it fired on four tankers that tried to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without Iran's permission.
U.S. Central Command said in a post on X that it had confirmed the IRGC's claims.
\r\nUSCENTCOM said, "Iran fired seven ballistic missiles toward Kuwait and Bahrain just hours after USCENTCOM shot down four Iranian suicide attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz."
According to USCENTCOM, after downing the four Iranian drones, U.S. forces struck Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites on Kharg Island and Qeshm Island to defend against further maritime attacks. Taken together, the U.S. and Iranian statements suggest that the clashes were triggered by Iran's attack on a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
