[Financial News] On the 6th, Oh Se-hoon issued a statement on the ballot paper shortage and called for a thorough fact-finding investigation, punishment of those responsible, and a sweeping overhaul of the election management system.
Oh criticized the shortage as "a grave violation of voting rights and an assault on constitutional order that cannot be justified by any excuse." He added, "We must clearly determine why the ballot paper forecast failed and why the supply chain was inadequate, and whether there was any intent or serious negligence. The National Assembly should use every available measure, including a parliamentary inquiry and a special counsel investigation, to uncover the truth."
He also said the NEC has shown chronic lax discipline, and urged severe punishment for those responsible, along with painful personnel reform and organizational overhaul. Oh argued, "To prevent this from happening again, the election management system must be completely reformed."
