[Financial News] ADOR, the agency behind NewJeans, has reduced by about 10 billion won the damages it is seeking from former member Danielle and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, now CEO of OOAK Records.
According to Yonhap News Agency on the 5th, ADOR recently adjusted the amount it is seeking in its damages lawsuit against Danielle, one of Danielle's family members, and former CEO Min from 43.09 billion won to 33.09 billion won.
ADOR previously filed the lawsuit in December last year, saying it would hold Danielle and former CEO Min legally responsible for NewJeans' departure and delayed return.
ADOR explained the reason for the reduction, saying, "A new legal representative was appointed, reviewed the case, and reorganized the claims, which led to some adjustments to the amount sought." It added, "We will continue to strengthen our arguments and evidence as the case progresses."
Earlier, NewJeans members had demanded Min's return after she was dismissed amid conflict with HYBE. When that was not accepted, they said in November 2024 that their contracts had been terminated because ADOR had breached the exclusive contracts, and they began independent activities.
In response, ADOR filed a lawsuit in December that year seeking confirmation that NewJeans' exclusive contracts remained valid, and ADOR won the first trial in October last year.
As the NewJeans members did not appeal, the ruling was finalized as is.
Later, Hanni, Hyein, and Hyein said they wanted to return, while Minji was reported to be discussing specific conditions for her comeback.
However, ADOR terminated Danielle's exclusive contract in December last year, saying she could no longer continue as a NewJeans member.
Meanwhile, the next hearing in the case is scheduled for the 11th.
